Fallon, Laurence J. “Larry” of Braintree, originally from Dorchester, died July 31, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Larry grew up in Dorchester and graduated from Christopher Columbus Catholic High School in the North End. He received a Bachelors from Boston State College and a Masters degrees and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from Northeastern University. He worked as a math teacher at Randolph High School before transitioning to a guidance counselor, finishing his career as the Director of Guidance at Canton High School. Larry was dedicated to his students and made it his life’s work to help them achieve their goals and help them through the difficult process of college admissions. He took great pride in his career and went above and beyond for his students in any way he could. Larry was also a dedicated family man, loving his role as “Papa” to his grandchildren and always had a close relationship with his siblings. He coached and managed his daughter’s softball league in Braintree and was a very involved father. His faith was important to him and he was an active member of St. Peter’s Church in Dorchester while growing up. Larry enjoyed his Friday Evening Club, where he and other men would meet and have scholarly discussions on any topic. He loved music and traveling to Hawaii, Key West, and France. Larry had a big personality and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Loving son of the late John W. and Marguerite (Finneran) Fallon. Beloved husband of 50 years to Susan (Finn) Fallon. Cherished father of Maguire Fanuele and her husband Jason, and father to Hiu Tai-Ho. Loving brother of Mary Fallon, Patricia Fallon and John W. Fallon, Jr. and his wife Cheryl. Devoted “Papa” of Emma, Timothy, Dominic and Dot. Dear uncle of Tara, John W, III and Lauren and her husband Brian, and many grand nieces and nephews. Also survived by dogs Boo and the late Jett, who he enjoyed long walks with at Wollaston Beach.
