Lawrence Peter Frazier, Jr. of Weymouth, aged 84, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, with his children at his side.
Lawrence (known as “Peter” among friends and family) was born in Weymouth in 1941 to Lawrence P. and Veronica M. (Loughan) Frazier of Braintree.
He graduated from Braintree High School in 1959. Following the guidance of his beloved uncle, the late John P. Loughan of Weymouth, Peter began a decades-long career in the field of computers, working on multiple generations of computer technology over the years for a variety of employers, including Keane Associates, affiliates of the Hughes Aircraft Company, Harvard University, and many others.
Peter also started a successful sole proprietor computer consulting business in the 1980s. Peter’s professional roles often involved training others on computer systems, which he particularly enjoyed. Throughout his life Peter maintained his love of computers and a passion for assisting others in their use. In retirement, Peter volunteered at the Margaret Fuller House in Cambridge to conduct computer trainings for senior citizens, for which he was honored with a Cambridge Senior Volunteer Recognition Award in 2009.
Peter loved history, particularly the history of naval operations in World War II, and was an avid reader. Peter had a keen interest in politics and was civic-minded, having assisted in the founding of Pond Meadow Park through his participation in the Braintree town meeting. For a time, Peter threw himself into the hobby of pleasure boating and volunteered with the United States Power Squadrons and the Sea Cadets youth program. Peter enjoyed bird watching and was particularly fond of red-tailed hawks. He loved big band music and the music of Frank Sinatra.
Peter was a devoted son, nephew, uncle, father and grandfather / “Bunkie”. Into his latest years, Peter sustained his friendly, cheerful disposition and exhibited a love of life and for spending time with his family and friends.
Peter was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Christian J. P. (Amy Hinz) of Boston, Lilla K. (Trevor Frankel) of Newton, and by his grandchildren, Thea Q. Frankel and Pierce G. Frankel. Peter is also survived by his sister Suzanne M. Daigle (Louis) and nephews Christopher Zibailo (Nicole Bifano) and James Zibailo. Also survived by his former wife, Lucia E. Qualey, as well as many cousins.
