Leo Xavier Crowley, age 92 of Weymouth passed away peacefully at his home on October 24th after a brief illness.

Leo was born in Dorchester, son of the late Denis and Ellen (Mahoney) Crowley, both born in Bandon, Ireland. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Helen G. (Keating) Crowley, and five children, Mary Anne Humberd (Richard) of Plymouth, Regina Gould (Martin) of South Yarmouth, David J. Crowley (Elizabeth) of Houston, TX, Timothy V. Crowley of Bridgewater and Christopher J. Crowley (Judy) of Mansfield.  He is beloved by his 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren who brought great joy into his life.  He is predeceased by his brothers Joseph Crowley, Leslie Crowley and Bernard Crowley as well as his sisters Ellen Dorsey and Barbara Hemeon.

A 1940 graduate of Boston High School of Commerce, Leo later studied with the Vincentian Order in North Hampton, PA.  He was a member of the 1955 graduating class of Boston College.  Leo joined the New England Tel & Tel Company where he started in the field and worked his way up to management in a career spanning 30 years.  In 1979 Leo was temporarily transferred to Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he worked for Western Electric and then returned to Boston in 1983.

A longtime resident of North Weymouth, Leo was an active member of Saint Jerome Parish where he was a Eucharistic Minister bringing communion to the sick at their homes and in local hospitals. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a gifted singer and participated in several local, parish and regional choirs.  He was a long time member of the Boston Papal Choir. He was past president of the North Weymouth Civic Association and the Telephone Pioneers group. In addition Leo was a Weymouth Town Meeting member. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8pm in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:30AM Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 10:30 AM. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
