Linda L. Dean 84, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William Dean Jr., (“Billsy” as she lovingly called him). With whom she shared a beautiful life and a marriage just a few months shy of 60 years.

Linda was born in Boston, and was a graduate of Jeremiah Burke High School. Linda was an extremely talented seamstress starting at a young age. She used these talents not only in her career, but also creating and altering special pieces for family and friends. She created many beautiful pieces over the years from clothing, costumes, quilts and was always the “Dr” on call when a stuffed animal was falling apart after being snuggled too much. She made clothes from her heart for her daughter Erika, from kindergarten dresses all the way through to her senior prom dress. If you got married during her embroidery era, you too might have some beautiful personalized towels that we hope you bring out every holiday and think of her fondly.

Loving mother of Tim Dean of Plymouth, Brian Dean of Hanson, Jonathan Dean of Hooksett, NH and Erika Dean Ryan of Plymouth. Extremely proud Nana of 6. Erik, Chloe, Danny, Molly, Sophia and Xana. Predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Mabel Hooper and her brothers John and Robert Hooper. Mother in law to Jean of Hanson, Dorianne of Hooksett, NH and Tricia of Plymouth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She cherished her role as a Nana and was always there to lend a hand, especially helping care for Danny and Molly, which kept her busy and fulfilled through her early years of retirement. She never missed a birthday, holiday or special occasion when it came to her kids or grandkids.

Linda was born and raised in South Boston, known as “Southie,” where she grew up with countless stories of the life and experiences that shaped her. It was during that time she met her love of her life, Billsy. Together they lived in Dorchester before settling in Weymouth, where they created a loving home and raised their family. She was the backbone of her family, keeping everyone in line and heading in the right direction as best as anyone could—always with love, strength and of course some laughs. Making sure everyone made it to, and never missed a practice, game and sporting event they had.

If you had the pleasure of knowing Linda personally, you knew she had the best sense of humor, creating a home filled with laughter and joy. Her family grew up surrounded by her wit and warmth, where laughter was an essential part of everyday life. She had a gift for making everyone feel like family. She treated all of her children’s friends as her own, and her home was always open. No matter the hour—even 1 a.m.—she would welcome you in and offer to make you something to eat. Cheeseburger after a night out? You knew where to go!

She started her career working mother’s hours as a seamstress at Keynote Interiors in Quincy. As her children got older she started working 2nd shift as an embroiderer at Wearguard in Norwell for many years until the company shut down, helping her make the decision to retire.

She will be remembered for her kindness, caring heart, her strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to everyone around her.
