Henderson, Linda (Magnusson) of Cohasset passed away on March 25, 2026. Linda was born in Boston to the late Isabel and Thor Magnusson and is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard A. Henderson; by her daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Andrew Miller of Hingham; by her daughter-in-law, Heather Henderson of Hingham, widow of her late son, Christopher T.A. Henderson; by four grandchildren, Colin Henderson, Sophie Miller, Caroline Miller and Lydia Miller and by her sister, Donna Magnusson and several extended family members.
Linda studied at Bard College and transferred to Dalhousie University from which she graduated in 1967 and began a teaching career that spanned more than 50 years. She taught mainly in private schools, including the Halifax Grammar School, Milton Academy, The Advent School of Boston and the last 26 years at Derby Academy. She was fondly remembered by and had stayed in contact with many former students.
Linda enjoyed traveling. Over the past 25 years, she and her husband have visited most of Europe and parts of Asia and North Africa. Linda is a past member of the Junior League of Boston and the Board of Directors of Boston Children’s Services Association.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, 4/8/2026 from 4-7 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), Hingham. A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, 4/9/2026 at 11 AM in St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, Hingham. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, The Salvation Army or the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA).
