It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine Ranahan. Lorraine was known for her strong will, unwavering determination, and love and support for her family and friends. Lorraine passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her beloved husband on January 1, 2025, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Boston to her loving parents James Ranahan (Deceased) and Margaret (Murray) Ranahan. Lorraine attended Silver Lake Regional High School and graduated from Aquinas College.
Lorraine is survived by her husband Richard MacAleese, her three brothers; Daniel Ranahan, Patrick Ranahan, and William Ranahan, as well as six loving sisters; Laura Crosby, Mary Willis, Karen Saunders, Elaine Rossi, Joyce Schorle, and Nancy Baragwanath. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine loved to love people and made many lifelong friendships. An avid traveler, Lorraine was particularly drawn to Paris, where she immersed herself in local traditions, savoring authentic cuisine and enjoying fine wine and cheese. Lorraine cherished the stories gathered from each journey, sharing them with friends and family with infectious enthusiasm. She was always planning the next adventure, meticulously researching destinations and eagerly awaiting the chance to discover new hidden gems.
For many years, Lorraine worked at Vestar Capital Partners. Prior to that she worked at Pyramid Broadcasting/Kiss 108 and began her career at State Street Bank and Trust.
