Louis J. Mcgrath

Louis J. McGrath, 88, of Braintree, passed away on February 19, 2022 and has gone to be with his beloved wife Mary “Christina” McGrath. He was the loving father of the late Theresa “Terry” Ursino and best friend of her husband Joseph Ursino of Walpole. He was the loving grandfather of Mark Ursino and his wife Jessica of Mansfield, and the adoring great-grandfather of their children Sienna and Luca. Louis was born in Gloucester and was raised in Dorchester by his adoring grandparents Thomas and Elizabeth McGrath. He was the son of the late Louis McGrath, brother of Virginia McGrath of Delaware and the late Mimi Corcoran, Edmond McGrath and Pauline Thomas, all of Florida. He was the dearest and beloved cousin of Sally Soper and her six children. He was the dearest brother-in-law of Evelyn DuPont of Stoughton and Margaret DiTroia of Arizona.

Louis proudly served as a Boston police officer for over 30 years. He started his service in South Boston and retired from Brighton. Louis also proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean War while stationed in Guam. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Mary and spending time with their family. He was very much loved by all. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday, February 28, 2022, 10-11 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Funeral Mass will follow in St. Clare’s Church, Braintree at 11:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
