McDonald Keohane Funeral Home - South
4:00 - 7:00 pm (Eastern time)
Louis John Tiberii, of Hull, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 83.
Louis was born in Malden on October 20, 1942, and was the son of the late Herman J. Tiberi and Helena (Murray) Vitale. Louis was raised in Winter Hill and attended local Somerville schools before answering the call to serve his country. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was deployed to Japan during the Vietnam War. Following his active duty, Louis continued serving with pride in the Air Force Reserves, dedicating 20 years before retiring in 2002. His commitment to his country reflected the same loyalty and sense of duty that defined every aspect of his life.
Louis was known for his strong will, remarkable wit and keen mind. Sharp as a tack until the very end, he had a quick sense of humor, a strong personality, and a lifetime's worth of colorful stories that could captivate anyone.
A dedicated employee of the Registry of Motor Vehicles, Louis worked right up until July 17, 2026, retiring only after celebrating his retirement with family, friends, and coworkers that very day, a fitting milestone for a man whose work ethic never wavered.
Outside of work, Louis embraced life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed trying his luck with scratch tickets, following horse racing, cheering on his favorite NASCAR drivers and football teams, and rarely missed a sporting event on television. An avid reader, he was always eager to learn something new or lose himself in a good book before going to bed at night. When it came to food, Louis wasn't picky, he simply enjoyed it all and never turned down a good meal.
Louis will be missed by all the lives he touched.
He was the husband of Rolly O. (Macomber) Tiberii of Brockton. Louis was the father of the late Paul Tiberii, who died at the age of 19. He was the dear brother of Richard Tiberii and his wife Kathleen of Andover, the late Michael Tiberii and his surviving wife Carol of Walpole, New Hampshire, and the late James Murray. Louis is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Route 18 opposite of South Shore Hospital). Cremation will follow. Interment with military funeral honors will be held privately in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Louis' name to New England Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108, by clicking here.
