Gallahue, M. Josephine (Curran) “Jo” 88 years old of Quincy, passed on January 4, 2014, surrounded by family in the home that she loved.
Josephine moved from Prince Edward Island to Boston when she was 17. She worked at Walsh’s Restaurant in North Quincy for 40 years as a waitress and hostess. After Walsh’s closed Jo volunteered her time at Quincy Hospital and started working as the cook at St. Joseph’s Retreat House in Milton. Jo was an amazing cook and loved baking for family and friends.
Wife of the late Kenneth A. Parris and Edmund J. Gallahue, Jr. Loving mother of Kimberly Tellert and her husband Alex of Lancaster, Joanne Dennehey and her husband Sean of Quincy, and Maureen McKenna of Hull. Sister of Anna Mullen of NH, Helen Vitale of OH, Lauretta Karsay of Brockton, and the late Gertrude Holliday, Francis, Jack, Eddie, Margaret, Billy, Jessie Getchell, and Betty Hale. Grammie to Alexis Tellert, Meghann, Sean and Taylor Dennehey, and James, Jake and Joshua McKenna. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday 3-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A funeral service will follow at 6 PM in the funeral home. Cremation to follow.
