Maddalena M. Jancsics

Maddalena (Maddalyn) Maria Jancsics, age 78, of Quincy, MA, passed away on Monday, June 2nd, 2025.

Maddalyn was born on April 1, 1947, and raised in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late Sabatino Ranieri and Assunta (Cerri) Ranieri and lived on the south shore her whole life.

She was a proud graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1964. Maddalyn went on to work for more than two decades as Medical Staff Coordinator at Quincy City Hospital.

Fiercely independent and strong-willed, Maddalyn lived life on her own terms. She faced challenges and forged her own path with determination. She found comfort and companionship in her beloved cats, who brought her daily joy and a deep sense of peace. She loved making her family recipe of Lobster sauce with pasta or baked stuffed lobster. She loved whole-belly fried clams, a good lobster roll, and fondly remembered meals at Anthony’s Pier 4, Jimmy’s Harborside, and the Dan’l Webster Inn—classic spots from a different era that she never forgot.

Maddalyn is survived by her two sons, Mathew Jancsics and his wife Katherine of Wilmington, MA, and Joseph Jancsics and his wife Dawn Marie of Manhattan, NY. She was a proud grandmother to her cherished granddaughter, Anna, daughter of Mathew and Katherine. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph Ranieri of Quincy, MA; her sister, Ines Dixon of Escondido, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Maddalyn’s life during visiting hours on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, Weymouth, MA.
