Cronin Margaret, Horgan “Etta” of Quincy passed on July 16, 2025 surrounded by her devoted and loving husband and family. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all.
Formerly of Kanturk, County Cork Ireland. She settled in Malden, MA in 1958 before moving to Quincy in 1966. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren which they lovingly referred to her as Nannie. She enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with her family. She was a hard worker and successful operated Cronin Cleaning Company with her husband by her side. Her door was always open and became a second home to many, especially Cork GAA players and any traveling Irish relatives and friends.
Etta always had a smile on her face and always made someone feel that she was genuinely happy to see them. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Church in Quincy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Beloved wife of 64 years to Michael Cronin. Cherished mother of Michael Cronin, Jr. and his wife Sheila of Quincy, Sharon Demio and her husband Douglas of Duxbury, Mark Cronin and his wife Carolyn of Weymouth, Dennis Cronin of Las Vegas, NV, and Sheila Barresi and her husband Ernie of Weymouth. Beloved daughter of the late John “Jack” Horgan and Bridget Horgan of Kanturk, County Cork, Ireland Loving sister of John Horgan and his wife Mary of Naples, FL, Kathleen McDonough of Woburn, Ben Horgan and his wife Maureen of Las Vegas, NV, BreedaTrainor and her husband Patsy of London, England, and predeceased by her siblings, Con Horgan, Dan Horgan and Tony Horgan of London, England and Mary Bradley of Everett, MA. Devoted Nannie of Michael Cronin, III and his wife Jenny, Theresa Cronin, Jack, Ashley, and Nicholas Demio, Marykate, Colleen, and Aidan Cronin, and Jacob and Ethan Barresi. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 7/23/2025 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Thursday 7/24/2025 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
