Margaret “Peg” M. Jenkins (Calnan) of Braintree, passed away on September 27, 2023. She was 80 years old.
Born in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elva Calnan. Peg grew up in Dorchester and moved to Braintree after her marriage. She spent her time between Braintree and South Yarmouth. She loved the Cape, reading a good book and traveling. But, most of all, she adored being a Mom and Nana. She was the first person you’d go to for advice, to share a funny story, or just sit and chat for hours with a glass of wine. She had a great sense of humor, an amazing laugh and was happy to be the “2nd mom” to anyone that needed one.
Beloved wife of the late Edmund Jenkins with whom she shared 41 years of marriage. Cherished mother of Patti Jenkins Kelly and her husband Pete of Braintree, Larry Jenkins and his wife Jen of Pembroke and Greg Jenkins of Scituate. Dear sister of Patricia Queeney and her late husband Peter of Stoneham. Loving “Nana” to Matthew, Hannah, Sarah, Maggie, Brenna, Teddy and Maura. Peg will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree at 10 AM. Burial to follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Peg may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
