Scoppettuolo, Margaret A. “Margie” (Meeks) of Weymouth, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 13, 2026. She was 76 years old.

Born and raised in Chestertown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late P. Francis and Ruth (Fogwell) Meeks. Growing up on a rural Maryland farm, Margie developed a warm spirit, a love for country life, and a deep dedication to her family and hard work.

Margie attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and graduated in the Class of 1972. It was during her college years that she met Ed, who was attending dental school while she was pursuing nursing.

Margie dedicated many years to caring for others through her work as a registered nurse. She worked at South Shore Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit until 1982. In 1982, she joined Ed in his dental practice, where she worked alongside him until her retirement in 2021. Her professionalism, reliability, and kind manner were evident in every role she held, and she was deeply respected by those who knew her through her work.

Family was always at the center of Margie’s life. She treasured time spent with her loved ones and made family a priority in all that she did. One of her greatest joys was traveling back to Maryland with her family at least three times a year, keeping strong ties to the place where she was born and raised. These trips were a cherished tradition and reflected the importance she placed on staying connected to her roots and to the people she loved most.

In addition to her devotion to family and work, Margie found happiness in the everyday pleasures of life. She loved farming, gardening, and fishing, and she appreciated the peace that came from spending time outdoors. She lived with warmth, grace, and a genuine kindness that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Services will be held for Margie at a later date.

Margie is survived by her loving husband Dr. Edward W. Scoppettuolo Jr. of Weymouth. Cherished mother to Michele Curley of Plymouth, Jodi Scoppettuolo of Weymouth, Christopher Scoppettuolo of Weymouth, and Mandy Scoppettuolo of Weymouth. Caring grandmother to Allison, Andrew, Ariana, Alivia, and Lily. Sister to Carol Chance, the late Lawrence Meeks and his late wife Genevia, the late Edgar Meeks and his surviving wife Roberta, the late Ervin Meeks, and the late Roger Meeks. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Margie’s name may be made to Carroll County Agricultural Center, 706 Ag. Center Dr. Westminster, MD 21157.
