Margaret “Maggie” Quinn, of Massachusetts and formerly of Derrartha Mor, Carraroe, County Galway, Ireland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 25, 2026, at the age of 85.
Born on May 3, 1941, in Derrartha Mor, Carraroe, County Galway, Ireland, Maggie immigrated to Boston in 1960. She was a woman of deep love, strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Maggie was the beloved wife of the late Martin Folan and the late William Quinn. She was the cherished mother of Maryann Folan and her husband John, Karen Donovan and her husband Mark, and Patricia Stock and her husband David.
She was the dear sister of Bartley Keane of Ireland , and the late Maureen Deegan, Anthony Keane, Barbara Keane, and Coleman Keane.
Maggie was a proud and loving grandmother to Lauren and Brendan Donovan; Áine and Martin Folan; and Cassidy, Nolan, Gerard, Matthew, and Christopher Stock. She is also survived by William Quinn’s children, grandchildren, and extended family, all of whom she loved dearly.
Maggie lived an amazing life surrounded by her family. She found great joy in listening to Irish music, tending to her garden, and traveling home to Ireland or vacationing in Aruba. Her warmth, humor, strength, and generous heart touched everyone who knew her.
Maggie had the wonderful blessing of her caregivers, Bridie Walsh and Brigid McDonough, two women who brought lively gaelic conversation back into her house, along with song, laughter and exemplary care.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at Friday, May 29, 2026 at 11:15 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Quincy at 12 Noon . Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston.
