Marianne C. Hajjar, died peacefully on Monday, September 7, while surrounded by her friends and family. She was 63.

Marianne was born on May 7, 1963, in Quincy, MA. Marianne is lovingly remembered by her sister, Louise Densmore and her husband, David, of Braintree; her sister, Susan Hajjar, of Hingham; and her brother, Steven Hajjar and his wife, Jean, of Cohasset. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael Hajjar, of Quincy, and is survived by his wife, Asma. She also leaves six nieces and nephews and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.

Marianne attended the Boston School for the Deaf in Randolph and then graduated from Newton North High School in 1983. She went on to attend The National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) and Gallaudet University.

Following her education, Marianne joined the family business, Hajjar’s Big and Tall, where she worked as a bookkeeper. She was an active member of the DeafBlind community. She served on the board of the Quincy Deaf Club, was a member of the DeafBlind Community Access Network (DBCAN), lived for several years at New England Homes for the Deaf (NEHD) in Danvers, and was a member of DeafBlind Contact Center (DBCC), where she served as Vice President from 2022 to 2023 and as Chairperson for the organization’s 45th Anniversary Celebration in 2025. These communities held a special place in Marianne’s life, providing her with lasting friendships, meaningful connections, and a strong sense of belonging.

She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed building LEGOs, but what truly stood out was her wonderful sense of humor. She loved to joke and tease, and she had a knack for making people laugh. Marianne took great joy in meeting others, making friends and being part of the lives of those around her. She had a gift for making even the simplest moments special, and her lively spirit brought warmth and laughter to every gathering. Her quick wit and outgoing nature made her someone people were always happy to see.

Marianne will be remembered for her generous heart and the genuine connections she formed throughout her life. She will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday, September 15th 9AM-12PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Funeral Mass will immediately follow at St. Joseph’s Church, 550 Washington Street, Quincy at 1PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
