Marie A. Conlin passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on August 8, 1947, she was the devoted daughter of the late Dominick and Geraldine Nista.
Marie was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence F. Conlin and a proud mother to Amy M. Conlin of Weymouth. She treasured her role as Nonnie, to Courtney Hardy of Weymouth, a bond that brought her immense joy.
Marie is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Dominick Nista and his wife Betsy of Plymouth, Robert Nista and his companion Jan Leone of Weymouth, and Cynthia Nista Marini of Abington. She was predeceased by her sister, Doreen Lavalette, whose memory remained close to her heart. Marie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom she cared for deeply.
A proud graduate of Weymouth High School, Marie went on to have a successful professional journey. In the earlier years Marie became one of the first female lumber buyers in the industry, at Grossman’s. She later went on to serve as a Records Officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the Municipal Police Training Committee, building a successful career marked by dedication, intelligence, and professionalism.
Marie had a wide range of interests that reflected her curiosity and creativity. She enjoyed cooking and took pride in preparing meals that brought her family together. She also had a talent for working with her hands, whether it was crocheting, fixing things around the house, or taking on small projects just for the satisfaction of seeing them done right.
At home, she found peace in her backyard, where she spent time gardening and watching the birds—a simple joy that grounded her. Marie valued time with her family most of all, whether it was sharing a quiet evening, watching movies, or enjoying family card nights. Though some of her favorite memories were made during trips to the lake in Maine, as she found deep relaxation there; moments that were well deserved for a woman who gave so much of herself to others.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday 6/20/2025 from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street(Rte 18 opp. So.
