Marie T. (Harzbecker) Hamilton-Worswick of Rockland, formerly of Weymouth and Hingham, died suddenly on September 10, 2025.
She was born in Boston and grew up in Jamaica Plain before attending Emmanuel College where she received her bachelor’s degree in Art in 1959.
A talented artist, she was a former art teacher in the Hudson and Avon school systems before starting her family.
She was active in her Roman Catholic faith and led the children’s ministry program at Resurrection Church in Hingham. She also served as a marriage preparation counselor for the parish for many years.
Mrs. Hamilton-Worswick was also active in her community and was a member of the League of Women Voters and Hingham Ladies Club. She also served on the Board of Water Commissioners in Hingham.
Some of her favorite pastimes were traveling, attending concerts on Nantasket Beach and frequent outings with her wide circle of friends. She also enjoyed camping and was a member of the Camping Hoedowners and the Wompatuck Chapter camping clubs. A square dancer for 19 years, she was a member of the Breasy Rounds and the K-Bar Square Saints. She mostly cherished time with family members and enjoyed frequent visits.
She was the beloved wife of John Worswick of Rockland and the late Leonard S. Hamilton. Loving mother of Leonard J. Hamilton and his wife Peggy of Annapolis, MD. Proud "Grandma/GG" to Amy Hamilton; Michael Hamilton; Steven Hamilton and his wife Nora; Christopher Hamilton and his wife Taylor Lindenhayn; and great grandchildren: Lesieli, Masoili, Leonard and Anthony. Loving stepmother of Lisa Worswick of Braintree; and Jeffrey Worswick and his wife Kathryn, and their children Sydney and Jayden, of Atlanta, GA.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Saturday 9/13/2025 from 8:15-9:15 in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) prior to the Funeral Mass in the Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main St., Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery at a later date.
