Doyle, Marilyn C. (Mee) 90, affectionately known as Nana or Nun , a lifelong resident of Hull and recently of Hingham and Allerton House at Central Park in Weymouth, passed away January 1, 2016 surrounded by many members of her loving family.
She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Doyle, a WWII veteran. She was the mother of Ellen J. Laramee and her husband Ronald of Plymouth, Deborah Doyle Scully of Hull, and the late Arthur Gerry Doyle of Hull. Beloved grandmother of seven – Jennifer Gately and her husband Joseph, Jason Laramee and his wife Kelly, , Kaitlyn Mullen and her husband Ricky, Kristen Scully, Shaun Doyle and his wife Kristie, Kate Mercauto and her husband Nick and Rob Scully.. When the great grandchildren started to arrive she was nicknamed “The Great One. She had twelve great grandchildren, Luke, Alexa, Blaise, Ryan, Victoria, Tate, Landon, Derek, Charlotte, Josie, Caroline, and Kevin. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and their families.
Marilyn was born July 8, 1925 in Arlington, the daughter of Edward and Marion (Fontaine) Mee. She had two brothers, the late Edward and James Mee. She attended Dorchester Girls Latin High School. A hard worker, she was a welder at General Dynamics Ship Yard during WWII. An involved parent, she was a constant chaperone for the Belles of St. Mary’s drill team in Hull. For many years, she was the manager of Child World toy stores in Hanover and Quincy. Marilyn’s greatest pleasures were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and her pet Foxy. She loved to bowl, play bingo, pokeno, and go to Foxwoods. Marilyn was always ready to help a family member or friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Parish in St. Ann’s Church, Hull at 10:30 AM. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
