Marion A. Knudsen

Marion A. Knudsen, age 84, a lifelong resident of Quincy, MA passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, surrounded by family.

She was born on May 12, 1942, to Stanley and Roberta (Tangstrom) Provost in Boston, MA. Marion and her siblings were raised in Quincy. She graduated from Archbishop Cushing High School. Following graduation, Marion started working as a nurse’s aide at Quincy Hospital. She wore many hats throughout her life, but her favorite was being a mother and a grandmother.

When her children were young, Marion played on the Castaways softball team in Hough’s Neck. She was an honorary member of the Town River Yacht Club. Marion and her husband, Mike, loved spending time with their family, especially enjoying days on the boat and out on the ocean together. She enjoyed listening to music like Patsy Cline, playing the piano, the guitar or singing in the choir at Most Blessed Sacrament in Quincy. Marion loved hosting her family and friends. She was welcoming, generous, and warm. Marion was always there for her family with a helping hand. She was independent, had a great sense of humor, and loved to laugh.

She was a cherished wife, mother and grandmother. Marion’s grandchildren were her pride and joy. Affectionately known as “JaJa”, Marion loved to spend time and spoil her 8 grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family, lifelong friends, and all who knew her.

Marion was the devoted wife of the late Roger “Mike” Knudsen. She is also predeceased by her parents, sister Roberta Casey, and her stepson Paul Knudsen.

Marion is the beloved mother to Michael Knudsen and his wife Sara of Quincy, Dennis Knudsen and his wife Melissa of Halifax, stepson Stephen Knudsen and his wife Cindy of Florida, as well as her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Knudsen wife of the late Paul of Florida. She is survived by her siblings Lorraine Provost of Pembroke, Rhonda Provost Benyo and her husband Richard of California, Janice Gilmore and her husband Jim of Quincy, John Provost of North Andover, and Teri Murphy and her husband Dan of Quincy. She is the adored grandmother of Michael, Emily, Mia, Kayla, Tyler, Stephanie, Corey, and Zachary. She will be missed by her great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday October 7, 2026, from 3-7 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday October 8, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1015 Sea St. Quincy MA.
