Sampson, Marion (Hunt), age 96, born in Newfoundland, of Braintree, formerly of Weymouth and Dorchester, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, at the John Scott House December 30, 2015.
Beloved wife of the late Peter J. Sampson and loving mother of the late Peter J. Sampson, Jr. Devoted mother of Marie Trechok of Hanover, Edward and his wife Alice of Braintree, Stephen and his wife Elizabeth of Braintree, Margaret Boddie and her husband Jeffrey of Braintree, Elaine Connolly and her husband Joseph of Weymouth, Michael and his wife Terri of Weymouth. Dear sister of Edna Hartley of Lindenhurst, NY, and the late Monica King, Margaret Dunphy, Eileen Flaherty, Sally Powers, and James, Thomas and John Hunt. Marion is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Marion worked for Sears for many years.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, January 3, 2016 from 2-6PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Monday, January 4, 2016 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marion’s memory to the Boston Firefighters Credit Union, c/o Children’s Relief Fund, 60 Hallet Street, Dorchester, MA 02124.
