Mary Ann (Hurrie) Saccardo, of Hanover, formerly of Weymouth, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, August 17, 2026. She was 82.

Mary Ann was born in South Boston, in Carney Hospital, on June 19, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Moynihan) Hurrie. Mary Ann was raised in Dorchester.

Mary Ann was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Class of 1962, where she first met her future husband. On February 19, 1966, they married in St. Ann's Church in Neponset, where they began a lifetime together. After high school, Mary Ann went on to secretarial school. Mary Ann built a long career in classified advertising at The Boston Globe, where she remained until her retirement, bringing care and dependability to her work every day.

Mary Ann was the kind of person you could always depend on and always feel at ease with. Mary Ann was kind and sweet in a way that made an impression on everyone she met, and she carried those qualities into every relationship, conversation, and lunch dates with the many friends she cherished throughout her life.

Mary Ann and Joe were snowbirds, spending their winters in Naples, Florida. Prior to wintering in Naples, Mary Ann loved spending time at Sunday River. Mary Ann was never one for the ski slopes herself, was happy to spend time surrounded by family. Mary Ann loved her time in Naples when her grandkids visited over school vacations. She was a woman who loved to travel and see the world, and experiencing new cultures. She and Joe journeyed to Italy, Ireland and many cities throughout Europe.

Above all else, Mary Ann treasured her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and no joy compared to the time she spent with them and with those she loved most. Mary Ann will be missed by all the lives she touched.

Mary Ann was the beloved wife of Joseph Carmine Saccardo, with whom she shared 64 loving years. She was the devoted mother of Christine M. Saccardo of Hanover, Joseph A. Saccardo and his wife Susan of Whitman, Lisa M. Tobin and her husband Andrew of Abington, and the late Mark Saccardo, who passed away in 1997. Mary Ann was the loving grandmother of Sarah E. Saccardo and her fiancé Kyle Herman of Hampstead, North Carolina, Emily A. Saccardo of Whitman, Kayli M. Tobin of Abington, Ryan M. Tobin of Abington, and the late Michael D. Saccardo and who passed away in 2017. She was the dear sister of Cornelia Costello and her late husband David of Falmouth, Joseph Hurrie and his wife Terri of Weymouth, Carol Hurrie of Miami, Florida, and the late Jean Coska, who passed away in 2022. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Friday, September 4, 2026, in St. Francis Xavier Church, 234 Pleasant St., Weymouth at 11 AM.

Interment is private.
