Mary Anne (Hartigan) Donlan of Hingham, died May 13, 2025.
Mary Anne was a proud graduate of Rivier University in Nashua, NH, Class of ‘64. She went on to make a lasting impact on many students during her long career as a teacher; working in Rochester, NH, Darien, CT and Weymouth, MA. She made many friendships throughout her career and enjoyed socializing with her “teacher friends” over the years. Prior to getting married and raising her family in Hingham, Mary Anne lived in New York City for several years where she met her husband Tom. In retirement, Mary Anne enjoyed living in Hale’s Location in North Conway, NH for many years until moving back to Hingham. Many great memories were made during annual summer family vacations in Nantucket. Mary Anne enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren, watching tennis, and the Red Sox. Most of all, the focus of Mary Anne’s life was her grandchildren. They lovingly called her “Mia” and she cherished every moment, big or small, with all five of them.
Mary Anne was the wife of the late Thomas F. Donlan, III. Loving mother of Brendan Donlan and his wife Danielle of Topsfield, the late Thomas F. Donlan, IV, and the late Sara Brooks. Mother in law of Justin Brooks of Nantucket. Sister of Noreen Waters and her husband Ed of Hopkinton, NH, the late John L. Hartigan, Jr. and the late Peter F. Hartigan. Proud "Mia" to Charlotte, Thomas, Emma, Caroline, and Hannah. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visitation on Wednesday 5/21/2025 from 9 AM-10 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square) prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome's Church, 632 Bridge St., Weymouth at 10:30 AM.
