Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Mary Ann (Tanzi) Doyle, a cherished mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 83 in Braintree, Massachusetts at the Old Colony Hospice House.

Born on January 8, 1943, in Boston, Mary's life was one of commitment, love, and joy. Mary's journey began in Boston, where she was raised by her loving parents, John and Ann Tanzi. Mary graduated from Roslindale High School and then went on to work at the State House in Boston before getting married, moving to Braintree and starting a family.

The heart of Mary's world was her family. She was a devoted wife, celebrating 57 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Richard. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, creating a warm and welcoming home for their children, Lisa (Doyle) Fehan and her husband Rich of Plymouth, and Michael Doyle and his wife Krista of Weymouth. Mary's role as Nana to her four grandchildren, Erin Doyle of Dorchester, Ayden Doyle of Naples, FL, Brenna Behonick (and her husband Anthony) of Braintree, MA and Kaylin Fehan of Medford, MA, was one she cherished deeply. Her love for her grandchildren was evident in the pride and joy she took in attending their sporting events, celebrating their milestones and being an integral part of their lives. Mary's family circle extended to her dear brothers, John Tanzi and his wife Priscilla of Swampscott, MA and Joe Tanzi and his wife Colleen, of Cantonsville, MD, and she was a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Richard and her parents John and Ann, who both held special places in her heart.

Throughout her Life, Mary's interests included planting, bird watching, spending summers in a campground at Old Orchard Beach Maine, at a small cottage in Lakeville as well as taking scenic drives with her husband Richard by her side. She was the biggest cheerleader at her grandchildren's sporting events, always there to cheer them on and offer her support. Her presence was a source of encouragement and a testament to her dedication as a grandmother. She watched her grandchildren grow up with their cousins, aunts and uncles in Maine as they created their own Doyle community within the campground they all spent their summers at.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Route 18 opposite of South Shore Hospital).

Her funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 10:30 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth.

Services will conclude with interment in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
