Mary E. Strong

Strong, Mary E. (Leonard) of Weymouth, died March 13, 2024. Mary was born in Boston the late James and Ethel Leonard. She grew up in Mattapan, later settling in Weymouth. Upon graduating high school, Mary became a proud United States Marine veteran serving during WWII. She worked for many years as a telephone operator for New England Telephone. Mary enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, dancing, playing the piano and spending time with her family. 

Beloved wife of 53 years to the late Samuel Strong. Loving mother of Kenneth Strong of Raynham, Carol Henderson and her husband Michael of Weymouth, Dianne Strong of Weymouth and Brian Strong of Weymouth. Dear sister of the late Ann Regan, James Leonard, Edward Leonard, Robert Leonard and John Leonard. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, March 21, 2024, 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10 AM on Friday, March 22, 2024 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 11 AM.
