Mary R. (Sestito) Schiavo, a long time resident of Hingham, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 12, 2026, she was 96 years old.

Mary was born in Italy and came over to Hingham where she lived on Canterbury Street. She was a fabulous cook and loved to spend time in her garden. The foundation of her life was her family and her faith. Mary was a longtime parishioner of St. Paul’s Parish. She was devoted to her family and in return they cherished her. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew her. Mary was the daughter of the late Domenic Sestito and the late Mary (Gratta) Sestito. She was the beloved wife of 69 years to the late Anthony T. Schiavo, Sr. Loving and devoted mother to Anthony T. Schiavo, Jr and John D. Schiavo both of Hingham and the late Thomas J. Schiavo. Mary is survived by her two grandchildren Johna Schiavo and John Schiavo, Jr. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026 from 9-11am in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.
