Maureen T. Mackin

Maureen T. (Sullivan) Mackin, passed away peacefully at home in Norwell on October 8, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Boston, and growing up in Dorchester, Maureen lived a life full of warmth, devotion, and joy, leaving behind cherished memories that will endure in the hearts of family and friends.

Maureen, whose maiden name was Sullivan, was known for her sociability and loyalty. As a member of "The Bookies", she shared laughs and took trips with her friends of 50 plus years. Spending time at the family pool with her grandchildren was a great joy.

Her interests also included crossword puzzles, puzzles of all kinds, and enjoying card games, activities that often brought family and friends together for laughter and companionship. Additionally, Maureen cherished driving her car around with her sisters, which they referred to as paratours. Fond recollections of the tiny family cottage in Onset from her childhood provided her a lifelong appreciation for the beach. Some of the simple pleasures she enjoyed were ice cream and the occasional glass of chardonnay. She truly had a wonderful life.

She was the beloved wife of 51 years to Joseph P. Mackin. Devoted mother of Julie Mackin and her husband Dan of Norwell and Katie Robertson and her husband Eric of Kingston. Proud and devoted "Mimi" to her grandchildren: Emma and Eric. Loving sister of Kathleen Sullivan of Hingham, Sheila Connelly and her husband Michael of Weymouth, and James Sullivan and his wife Nancy of Hingham. Maureen was also survived by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She loved being an "auntie". She was also survived by many loving in laws and many great friends.
