Shutt, Melville L. “Mel” of Scituate, formerly of Hingham, August 20, 2003. Beloved husband of Ellen (Johnson) Shutt and the late Mary (Osborn) Shutt. Loving father of Dorothy L. Lally of Fayetteville, GA, John M. Shutt of Scituate, Donald Shutt of North Granby, CT, and the late Dianne Shutt. Stepfather of Stephen and Daniel Hurley, both of Hingham. Brother of Lorraine Thomas of California and the late William Shutt, Mildred Kimball, and Evelyn Rowell. Also,survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM Monday at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.Mr. Shutt worked as plumber for thirty years for MacNeil Plumbing in Hingham – retiring in 1977. He was a graduate of Hingham High School and was an avid hockey fan. He played hockey for the Cohasset Senior Citizen League.
