Michael Barry of Quincy, Massachusetts died peacefully at his home on Monday, February 23, 2026. He was surrounded by his family who cared for him as he passed over. Michael was born on November 10th, 1933, the beloved son of the late Michael and Hannah (Brackett) Barry. One of six brothers, Michael was raised in Ballyduff, Co. Waterford, Ireland. He was preceded in death by his brothers Thomas of Marshfield, Massachusetts, Rev. John Barry of Vancouver, Canada, James of Ballyduff, Co. Waterford, Ireland and David of Essex, England. He is survived by his beloved wife Bridget, son Michael and daughter Mary of Quincy, Massachusetts and by his son John, his daughter-in-law Marie and grandchildren Alejandra and Isabel of Bethany, Connecticut. He is also survived by his brother Rev. Patrick Barry of Fermoy, Co. Cork, Ireland and many nephews and nieces.

Michael was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the Cork hurling team. He was witty and loved to laugh. Michael was a hardworking family man who lived a life of integrity, faith, humility and resilience.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet Michael’s family during visiting hours on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy. A Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy, will be held at 10am on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 . Cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael’s memory may be made to the Irish Pastoral Center, 540 Gallivan Blvd, Dorchester, Massachusetts. Information on how to donate can be found on their website.
