Obituary

Michael Patrick Breen of Quincy, OFD, passed away April 19, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Michael was the glue of his family and was always there for others. Any issue you had, he had a solution. He started his nightclub career working security at Club Celebration in Kenmore Square. He worked his way up to management and this is where he met his wife Mary. He then moved on to manage many clubs and eventually moved up to general manager, and owner/partner of Boston Ballroom Corp (Club Royale). Michael loved the heat, wintering at his home in Naples, FL, visiting his timeshare in Disney with Mary and summering in Hull, MA for his whole life with his family. He loved fishing right off of the beach and was an avid golfer, spending 2 weeks every February in Hilton Head, SC at his timeshare that he’s owned for over 30 years. Michael was a loving and protective man who took care of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Loving husband of Mary F. (Sahlas), whom he shared a wonderful life of 44 years. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Rita, his brothers Charles Jr. (Tina), Joseph (Linda), his sister Marianne Kast (Stephen). Survived by his sisters Carolyn Gillis and her husband Tim of Quincy and Janet Scarafone and her husband John of Carver. Loving son in law of Francine Sahlas. Uncle Mike was adored by his 11 nieces and nephews and 17 grand nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 5/3/2026 from 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Monday 5/4/2026 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael may be made to Good Shepherd Community Care, 160 Wells Avenue, Newton, MA 02459.
