Michael
Finnegan
May 17, 1962 – April 14, 2026
Michael Finnegan, a longtime resident of Quincy, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. He was 62.
He was born in South Boston to Katherine B. (Milisi) and Francis J. Finnegan. When he was 11 the family moved to Quincy, where he would grow up and call home for most of his life. He graduated from the Quincy Vocational Technical High School, where he was a talented hockey player. After graduating he would go on to work in construction as a framer and as he honed his craft, he became a finish carpenter. Later in his career, he would work under the Carpenters Local 723 Union. He took pride in his meticulous work and often regaled his friends and family with stories of working on the Nantucket Whaling Museum and the Providence Place Mall.
In his spare time, he enjoyed peaceful bike rides through his neighborhood and hunting trips with friends. He also enjoyed time spent with his canine companions, whom he adored. Michael was also a loyal fan of the Boston Bruin’s.
He is survived by his siblings: Karen Petit and her husband Bob of Quincy, David Finnegan and his wife Linda of Quincy and Brian Finnegan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Also survived by a niece and 5 nephews.
