Pickering, Michael J. of Brockton, died September 30, 2016.
Michael worked in maintenance for the VA Hospital in Brockton for many years. He had a passion for restoring and owning Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Michael also fixed and rebuilt old cars. He could always be found fixing or building whatever needed. Michael’s main passion in life was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
Beloved father of Allison Pickering of Rockland and the late Kristina Pickering. Devoted Grandpa of Sean McCauley, Julianna Paluzzi and Cole Pickering. Caring son of the late Charles and Helen Pickering. Cherished former husband of Mary Pickering of Rockland. Loving brother of Charles Pickering and his wife Barbara of Braintree, David Pickering and his wife Helen of Milton, Patricia Gadoury and her late husband Peter, Linda Mowles and her husband Michael both of Braintree, Janice O’Connell and her late husband Alan of Norwell, Gail Sim and her husband Alexander of Wareham and late Barry Pickering. Brother in law of Patricia Whitney. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM on Wednesday. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael may be made to The VA Boston Healthcare, 940 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA 02301 or to The Jimmy Fund c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
