Michael Sullivan, “Sully” 61 of Quincy, MA passed away suddenly on Friday, August 8th, 2025. Michael was born February 10, 1964 in Quincy, MA. The son of Michael Sullivan and Anne “Nancy” Kelly. Michael graduated from Don Bosco Technical High school in 1982 and served in the United States Navy from 1987-1991.
Michael married Carrie LaPenna on June 11th, 2002 and they remained happily married for the rest of his life. Together they had two sons, Andrew, 24 and Anthony, 22. Michael spent a majority of his life serving the city of Quincy as a police officer for 20 years where he received formal commendations for acts of extraordinary service on three separate occasions, and as a youth baseball coach where he led his teams to multiple championships which brought him an immeasurable amount of pride and joy.
Michael loved nothing more than spending his free time on his boat with his best friends at captains cove marina, or walking his Saint Bernard Max through the blue hills as often as he could. He was a man that dedicated his life to helping and serving others and asked for nothing in return.
Remaining to cherish Michael’s memory are his wife Carrie, his children Andrew and Anthony, his mother Anne “Nancy”, his sister Sheila, and many cousins, as well as the countless number of people that Michael helped throughout his years of service as a police officer, a coach, and a friend.
A visitation will be held at Keohane funeral Home at 785 Hancock St. in Quincy on Friday, August 15th from 4pm- 8pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann’s Church in Quincy on Saturday August 16th at 10 am and the buriall will be held at Mount Wollaston Cemetery following the conclusion of the Mass.
