Ming Dong of Quincy, died suddenly on May 1, 2026. He was 84 years old.

Ming was born on July 29, 1941, in NYC to Yen and Suey Dong. He grew up in Freehold, NJ, and graduated from Monmouth University in New Jersey. He moved to MA where he worked as an optician with his brother. It was during this time, he met his future wife in 1982, Kay Lee. Later, he started his own commercial real estate business with her, Lee Associates.

Known for his warm heart and sense of humor, Ming was a jovial presence with people he connected in both his personal and professional life. He enjoyed living recently in Marina Bay, and taking annual summer vacations to Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard, where he had a timeshare.

Ming was a beloved husband to Kay Dong, father to Michael and Michelle, brother to Han and Mai-Li Dong. He was a cherished uncle of Amanda Lee, Cara Dong, Christopher Dong and Kimberly Matsuo, brother-in-law of Betty Dong, Philip Lee, and Jeong (his wife).

Though there are wishes for more time and deeper moments shared, Ming’s memory remains a guiding presence. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 5/12/2026 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.
