Natalie I. (Brown) Procter, 96, of Weymouth, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died peacefully on Saturday, January 10, with her loving family by her side. A proud lifelong Weymouth resident, Natalie lived for more than 70 years in the home her father built for her, a home filled with family, faith, and cherished memories. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold L. Procter, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Natalie was the loving mother of Mark A. Procter and his wife Laurie (Jancaterino) of Naples, FL, and their children, Renee and Liane; Forrest E. Procter and his wife Carol (Trask) of Bangor, ME; and Kyle E. Procter and her husband George F. Nicholas of Delray Beach, FL. She is the cherished grandmother to Ryan Murphy and his wife Stephanie, Connor Murphy, and Cameron Barrus and her husband Robert. She was the proud great-grandmother of nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Alma Knight of Parkville, MD and her husband Richard Knight (deceased), brothers Clayton Brown (deceased) and his wife Jackie and Wayne Brown of Florence, MA and his wife Ellie and Natalie’s companion in her later years, Richard Hanabury of Weymouth.
Born in Weymouth on June 24, 1929, Natalie was the eldest child of Frances Olga (Fraser) Brown and George William Brown. She graduated from Weymouth High School in 1947 and worked for various businesses around Columbian Square during her teenage years. Following high school, she was employed as a teletype operator in Boston.
In the 1960s, Natalie attended Bridgewater State College, where she earned an associate degree in library science. She went on to enjoy a long and fulfilling career as a librarian, first in Weymouth and later in Abington, retiring at the age of 75.
Natalie was a devoted member of Old South Union Church in South Weymouth, having joined the church in 1944. She rarely missed a Sunday worship service and, at the time of her passing, was the longest-standing member of the congregation. She also cherished her weekly bridge club, remaining an active member for more than 60 years. Known for her impeccable sense of style, Natalie had a lifelong love of fashion and jewelry and was rarely seen without a carefully chosen outfit and her signature accessories.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2-5 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Route 18 opposite South Shore Hospital).
