Norbert (Bob) Steele, age 89 of South Weymouth, died July 12, 2025.
Bob was born in Boston to the late Norbert and Edith Steele. He grew up on Blue Hill Ave in Roxbury and attended Boston Trade School. Bob was a hard working baker from the inner city who worked his way up through the ranks, got his Master’s degree from University of Connecticut and became a Professor of Culinary Arts at Massasoit Community College for many years. He loved spending time with family, especially Summers on the Cape in Bourne. Bob loved to sing, he had a great voice and always said it made him happy.
Beloved husband of 59 years to the late Mary Steele of Weymouth. Loving father of John M Steele and his wife Dina of Kingston, Robert J Steele and his wife Laura of Hanover, Katherine A Cugini and her husband Glenn of Marshfield and Thomas B Steele and his wife Karla of Bourne. Proud “Papa” of 11 grandchildren Joe, Dan, John, Owen, Julia, Megan, Lauren, Alyssa, Erin, Brianna, Isaac and 12 great grandchildren.
Brother of Walter Steele of Norwood, Edward Steele of Northborough, and Lois Maguire of Norwood.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday, July 15th, from 8:30 AM - 9:30 am in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home South Weymouth at 809 Main Street (Rt 18 opposite South Shore Hospital). Following the visitation, a Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Francis Xavier Church, South Weymouth at 10 am on Tuesday.
Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, South Weymouth.
