Olindo E. DeTommaso of Weymouth, died December 21, 2015 at the age of 90.
Olindo served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Raymond DE 341, fighting in the Battle of Leyte Gulf. He was a draftsman supervisor for Draper Labs in Cambridge for many years on the Apollo & Trident programs.An artistic person, Olindo had a passion for painting. Dee was a member of the Hull Artist Association and attended numerous craft fairs where he enjoyed interacting with people. Lindy also enjoyed fishing and summering at the family cottage at Hideaway Village on Cape Cod.
He was the husband of the late Josephine (Fortunato) DeTommaso. Loving father of Jon J. DeTommaso and wife Denise, Paul DeTommaso and wife Lisa and the late Linda L. Warnock and her husband Richard, all of Weymouth. Devoted “Grampy” of Kyla Melberg and husband Frank of Greenland, NH, Damon Warnock and wife Katie, and Anthony DeTommaso, all of Weymouth; and his great granddaughter Isabella. Brother of Lucy Rubolino of Bridgewater, Toni Smyth of Pembroke and the late Clara DeTommaso Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth at 10 AM. Burial in MA National Cemetery, Bourne at 12:45 PM. Donations in memory of Olindo may be made to the Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
