Pamela Ann Hayes of West Yarmouth, formerly of Weymouth, passed away at home with loved ones by her side on Sunday, June 22, 2025, after a valiant battle against cancer. She was 64.
Pam was born in Boston to Claire Marie (Hutchinson) and Archie Vincent Hayes and raised in Weymouth. Claire passed when Pam was young, and she was raised by her father and stepmother, Patricia (Murray) Hayes. She moved to Cape Cod when she was 15, where she met her lifelong best friend Jeanna and graduated from Barnstable High School in 1980. A few years later, she enlisted in the Navy and served for four years stationed at Pearl Harbor. Pam greatly enjoyed her Navy days in Hawaii.
In her spare time, Pam loved being with her family and friends and could often be found at Harbor Church in Hyannis where she was baptized in 2022. Pam was the embodiment of purity, love, and selflessness. Her presence brought a quiet light into every room. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Pam leaves behind her son, Simon Wright, and his wife Meaghan. She was a loving sister to Robert “Bob” Hayes and his wife Marguerite, Brian Hayes, and the late Linda Luthe and her surviving husband Robert. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, a great-niece, and many great-nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Harbor Church in Hyannis at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pam may be made to Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation, PO Box 370, Hyannis, MA, 02601.
