Patricia Mary Finnell

Patricia Mary Finnell of Hull, MA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on May 30, 1937, she was the daughter of Louise (Dalton) and Cornelius Sullivan and the youngest of four siblings.

She grew up in Roxbury and Dorchester and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School. At the age of 19, she married the love of her life, Bob. After living in Medford and Charlestown, they ultimately found their home in Hull where they resided for over 60 years. She worked at the Hull Cooperative Bank for about 15 years as well as Stop and Shop where she retired after 10 years. Although she enjoyed her time at both places, her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her five children and eventually a grandmother and great-grandmother. Throughout her life, she enjoyed traveling all around the country with her husband, spending time with her entire family, and was often found on Nantasket Beach surrounded by kids.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert D. Finnell, and her five children and their spouses; Bob & Laurie Finnell of Manchester, NH, Patty & Dave Gardiner of Hull, Jeff & Kathy Finnell of Worcester, Sue & Paul Garrity of Londonderry, NH, and Michelle & John Warren of Whitman. Proud grandmother to her sixteen grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Katherine, Tim, Joanne, Steve, Geoff, Joseph, Erin, Lynsey, Nicole, Matthew, Patrick, Alexis, David, and Dan, and great-grandmother to Ashley, Shea, Nate, Luke, Caroline, Maverick, Jacqueline, Michael, James, Delaney, and Owen. She is also survived by her brother in law James M. Finnell and his wife Marion of Norwood and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her three siblings Louise Estano, John Sullivan, and Mildred Finnell.

The family would like to thank everyone at the Hull Fire Department, South Shore Mobile Integrated Health Unit, Norwell VNA, and the entire staff at Southwood at Norwell Nursing for taking exceptional care of her over the past few years.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday, May 12 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church in Hull on Tuesday, May 13 at 10:30 AM with burial at Hull Village Cemetery.
