Patricia ‘Tricia’ (McCarthy) Flaherty of Braintree passed away suddenly on April 6, 2024.
Tricia was the beloved wife of the late Neal O. Flaherty, and loving mother of Megan Elizabeth Flaherty and her fiancé David Botsolis of Braintree. She was the daughter of the late James McCarthy and Ellen of South Boston. She was also the loving sister of the late Gerard McCarthy and his late wife Joan of Dedham; Mary Ann McCarthy of Westwood; Joan McCarthy of Quincy; Maureen Anderson and her late husband Jack of Canton; and James McCarthy and his wife Joan of Franklin. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and grandnieces.
Tricia grew up in South Boston, where she attended St. Bridget’s Grammar School, Cardinal Cushing High School, and graduated from Boston Business School. She worked in the offices of Stop & Shop and State Street for several years. She spent many years as a caretaker for her late husband and raising her daughter, Megan. Her most prized possession was her family. Tricia enjoyed the simple things in life: spending time with her family and friends, taking care of her grandnieces Ella and Avery, and vacationing to Cape Cod and Disney World.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research in honor of her late husband, Neal O. Flaherty.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 8:30-10:00 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. The Funeral Mass will be in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. See www.Keohane.com for directions and online condolences.
