Patricia R. Lynch, a spark of light and love, passed away peacefully in her home in Quincy, Massachusetts on October 26, 2026 at the age of 80.
Patricia (Pat) was a graduate of St. Ambrose School, Saint Patrick’s High School and attended Boston State College. She spent many years at Kelly's Landing in Weymouth, where she served far more than meals. She served comfort, laughter, and genuine connection, making everyone who crossed her path feel seen, heard, and valued. She later continued her career with IBEW Local 103 as a health claims processor, where she treated every client as family.
Pat was an avid reader and an extraordinary cook, baker, and hostess who had a gift for making people feel instantly at home. Her door was always open, whether for an expected visitor, a spontaneous drop-in, or an overnight guest. She had a remarkable ability to see the good in others and was always ready with support, encouragement, and thoughtful advice. She had the wonderful ability to make people feel important, understood, and at ease.
Family was at the center of Pat's life. She was endlessly proud of her children and grandchildren, celebrating every accomplishment, adventure, and milestone as if it were her own. Her grandchildren were among her greatest joys, and she cherished the close relationships they shared through frequent visits and phone conversations, storytelling, and laughter. The love between them was a lasting source of comfort and happiness.
Pat was fiercely independent, and embraced fun at every opportunity. She loved swimming, dancing, making up silly songs, water slides, roller coasters, and games of every kind, especially cribbage, the daily Boston Globe crossword puzzle, and spirited rounds of charades. When a decision needed to be made, she was always ready with her favorite solution: "Buck up! Do you want odds or evens?"
Pat's greatest legacy is the love she shared so freely. Her generosity of spirit and depth of her love could be felt by everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was lighthearted and quick-witted, with a wonderful sense of humor and a special appreciation for the absurd. She could make anyone laugh and, within minutes of meeting someone, could learn their life story and make them feel like an old friend.
Patricia is survived by her children, Julie (David) James of Milton, Andrew Lynch of Dorchester, and Alison (John) Brennan of Hanson; her three cherished grandchildren, Hannah, Martin, and Desmond; and her siblings, Janet Mayo of Scituate, John Lynch and Mark Lynch of Dorchester, and Elaine Canty of Dedham, and many friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Thomas Lynch, and her siblings, Nancy Payne, Mary Harnett, Margaret Feroli, Kathleen LeBrocquy, and Thomas, Kevin, Paul and Christopher Lynch.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours from 9:30-12:30 on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock Street, Quincy, followed by a luncheon for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support families and children at Catholic Charities Boston www.ccab.org
