Patricia Marie “Patty” Petrus, passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 8, 2026. She was 84.
Born in Quincy, she was the daughter to the late John Francis and Mary Loretta (DiBona) Haynes.
Patty was a devoted mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life, and she loved being involved in their activities and milestones. She was also a great cook/baker who enjoyed sharing meals and recipes that had been passed down from her mother.
Patty and her husband shared 57 years of marriage built on love, laughter and commitment. To celebrate their 50th anniversary, they renewed their vows at an Elvis chapel in Las Vegas, creating a fun and memorable moment together.
She loved bringing people together and was happiest when entertaining family and friends. In later years, Patty and her husband enjoyed traveling, visiting places like Disney with her grandchildren and exploring parts of America and Europe.
Patty was known for being tough but fair, with a kind heart and an open door. She cared deeply for others and was always ready to listen or lend a hand.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Loving wife to Augustine “Augie” Petrus. Mother to Troy Hubbell and his wife Ellen of Middleboro, Craig Petrus and his wife Mery of Whitman, and Derek Petrus and his wife Kathy of Braintree. Sister to Kathy Cook and the late Bobby Haynes. Also survived by her loving grandchildren, great-grandaughter and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street).
