Cavallaro, Paul J., Sr. of Weymouth (formerly of Braintree), passed away peacefully surrounded by his family May 20, 2026. He was born in Boston to the late Domenica and Orazio Cavallaro. Paul was a graduate of The New England Conservatory. Paul spent several years as a music teacher, teaching accordion and piano. Paul was an exceptional accordion player and pianist and never went anywhere without his accordion. He was quite the entertainer. Paul and his wife Marilyn were owners of A Street Lunch in South Boston (that his own father, Orazio, opened in 1925) as well as Paul's Mini Mug in Quincy. A devout Catholic, Paul was proud of his distribution of over 500,000 Miraculous Medals, from the North End to the South Shore. Paul had a deep love for all animals. He would often say “looking into an animal’s eyes was like looking into the eyes of God.” Paul also cherished spending time boating with his family and at Humarock Beach where he spent all of his summers growing up.
Beloved husband to the late Marilyn F. Cavallaro. Loving father of Celeste Walsh of Weymouth, Paul J. Cavallaro, Jr. of Wareham, Marilyn F. Tawfik of Weymouth, Leeann Blackmore and her husband Michael of Pembroke, Beth A. Soriano and her husband Joel of Pembroke. Cherished Grandpa of Paul M. Walsh and his wife Kristen, Christian M. Spakoski and husband Anthony, Kelsy M. Phinney and her husband Jason, Ryan P. Walsh and partner Jennifer Donnellan , Bradford J. Walsh and his wife Liz, Jarek A. Walsh and his wife Jessann, Amanda M. Genthner and her husband Nick, Lucas M. Cavallaro and his wife Jordan, Alexander M. Tawfik and partner Mekayla Barbosa, Chelsea M. Blackmore, Benjamin M. Blackmore and fiancé Jordan Damon and Jordyn E. Soriano. Paul is also survived by 16 (almost 17) great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Paul is predeceased by his sister, the late Genevieve Reardon.
In an oversimplification of an inspiring and fulfilling life, Paul’s values were simple: God, Family and Hard work. Paul figured out how not to overcomplicate this life. He believed in the Holy Spirit, and it's law of attraction. Paul was full of it. Anyone who knew him felt it too. We’re all better for having had him, and for as long as we did.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 5/25/2026 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square).
