Paul Clemente Jr. of Naples, Florida and Milton, Massachusetts, formerly of Hingham, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023. He was 78.
Beloved husband of 51 years to Patti (DeSisto) Clemente. Devoted father to Sharyn Clemente of Boston and Michelle Clemente Braasch and her husband Cameron of Bedford, NH. Proud Papa to Grant Alden and Hallie Cate Braasch. Loving brother to Carol Dykstra of Braintree, Valerie Clemente of Nashville and Karen Clemente of Quincy. Favorite uncle to many beloved nieces and nephews.
Paul was born in North Quincy to the late Elsie (Alden) and Paul Clemente and graduated from North Quincy High in 1963. Paul went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northeastern University and his master’s in accounting from Bentley University. Prior to retirement, Paul served as Vice President and CFO of Bentley University, successfully navigating the institution through a decade marked by external turbulence and uncertainty. During his career, Paul also held leadership roles at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Boston University.
In his free time, Paul loved spending time with his family – especially summers on Newfound Lake, NH filled with mountain biking, hiking and swimming, and winter weekends spent skiing at Tenney and Ragged. More recently, Paul spent time in Naples FL with his wife Patti, where he enjoyed playing tennis with friends and taking long walks through the mangroves behind his home.
Paul had a keen interest in history and genealogy. As a descendant of John and Priscilla Alden, he was actively involved with the Alden Kindred of America and the Massachusetts Chapter of the Society of the Cincinnati, helping to shape the future of these organizations through his contributions as a member of the Boards of Trustees.
Paul had a quiet presence that was respected by his family, friends, colleagues, and peers. His words carried weight and he was often considered to be a voice of reason both personally and professionally. Paul’s kind, caring and loving nature will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on February 10, 2024 at Madre Osteria in Milton. Friends and relatives are invited to stop by between 11AM and 3PM to share memories and celebrate all the things that made Paul special to so many people.
