Rooney, Paul J. of Bourne formerly of Quincy died January 22, 2014 after a brief illness.
Beloved husband of Jean Casanova Rooney of Bourne. Loving father of Erin A. Rooney of Chicago, IL and Brian E. Rooney and his wife Ashley of Bourne. Devoted brother of Lee-Anne Parsons of Quincy, Ellen Hunter of Hanover, Donna Raimondi of Quincy, Margaret Adams of Quincy, Janet Stevens of Kingston and David Rooney of Weymouth. Son in law of Ann Casanova of Hingham. Cherished grandpa to Lucas Paul Rooney of Bourne. Paul is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.
Paul was born in Boston, he grew up and was educated in Quincy. He was a graduate of North Quincy High School and attended Quincy College. Paul was a store manager at CVS in Falmouth. He also worked for BJ’s Wholesale Club at various locations for several years. Paul had a love for baseball, he started playing as a child and played right up until his illness. He was a longtime member of the Men’s Senior Baseball League. He enjoyed tending his lawn and garden and traveling with his wife Jean. Most of all Paul adored his family, they were truly the cornerstone of his life. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday 2-6 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Cremation will follow.
