Peter E. Taylor of Plymouth passed away peacefully on May 20 after a long illness. He leaves behind his former wife and loving companion of 59 years Leslie Taylor. With Leslie he shared a life of love, friendship, two children, a daughter in-law, and beloved grandson Jake.

Born fittingly enough on Veterans Day 1945, Peter served proudly for the United States Navy and was the beloved son of the late Evans and Patricia Taylor, brother to the late Andy Taylor and survived by Michael Taylor of Chestertown, Maryland. A devoted father to sons Matt and Evan, father-in-law to Evan’s wife, Kristen, and proud grandfather to Jake, Matt’s son. Pete shared a love of Boston sports teams, being outdoors, and spending time near the water whether it was Cape Cod Bay or Chesapeake Bay.

A graduate of Bucknell University, Pete forged a career in the oil industry moving from Delaware to Virginia to Connecticut before finally settling in Hingham, MA. After nearly 30 years of working as an Operation Manager in the oil industry, Pete used his extensive talent in repair to open his own shop in Cohasset. Raising his kids with Leslie in Hingham, Pete loved coaching soccer, taking out his boat on Hingham Harbor, or working on his historic Hingham home.

Pete had quick wit, a strong work ethic, and a love of all thing’s family. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the ALS Association of Massachusetts.
