Rebecca “Becky” Clothier Case, 57, of Hingham, MA died on December 18th, 2023, after an 11-year battle with kidney cancer. She was surrounded by loving family and friends.
Warrior, wife, mom, friend, teacher, lover of hydrangeas, twinkling blue eyes, and a big bright smile are just a few words to describe Becky. She loved traveling, reading, doing puzzles, and floating in the pool. Becky was patient, loving, outgoing, loyal, a great listener and dispenser of sage wisdom. She was happiest surrounded by family, her many friends, and having her toes in the sand.
Becky was born December 8th, 1966, in Bryn Mawr, PA and was the daughter of the late Isaac H. Clothier IV and Barbara M. Clothier. Becky attended the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr and graduated from Miss Porter’s School in Farmington, CT. She earned a B.A. and M.S. in Education from Boston College where she met her loving husband, Jon. She proudly earned a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies from Bridgewater State University. Becky went on to teach special education in the Walpole and Hingham school districts. She became the Special Education Preschool Coordinator and then Assistant Principal at the East Elementary School in Hingham before retiring last year.
Becky was an active member of the Hingham community for many years and became a member of the Hingham Newcomers Club when they moved to Hingham in 1993. She served as head of the church school and was a member of the Flower Guild and the Nominating Committee at St. John’s the Evangelist Parish-Episcopal Church in Hingham. She joined the Hingham Garden Club and volunteered for various activities for the PTO.
She is survived by Jon, her loving husband of 33 years, her son Zack (Kristina), her son Nick, and her daughter Jessica. She is also survived by her brother Chip (Liz), two nieces Catharine (Matt) and Christie; and three nephews Charlie (Nadia), Rye, and Wick (Taylor), and three grand- niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Melinda.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on January 6, 2024 at 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Parish-Episcopal Church, 172 Main Street, Hingham, MA. Becky requested brightly colored clothing for this celebration.
