Richard Alden Hawkes III

Richard “Richie, Rich” Alden Hawkes III of Weymouth MA, passed away peacefully at the age of 71, on December 7th at 6:30 pm. He was born and raised in Wollaston, graduating from Quincy North High School in 1972. He spent his summers as a child in Nova Scotia with his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 After high school, Rich worked with his father and grandfather, as a plasterer in Boston. From there, he spent time on the Cape and in Fort Lauderdale as a chef, eventually making his way back to Massachusetts and meeting Ann, while working at the Villa Rosa in Quincy. He then transitioned to the glaziers union, where he worked until he retired. 

 Rich enjoyed spending time vacationing anywhere warm, playing chess and Yahtzee, and eating as much ice cream as he could get his hands on. He enjoyed all types of comedy and music from the late 60s and early 70s. 

 He had been happily married to his wife, Ann M. Hawkes, since 1989. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Ryan M. Hawkes, his son Richard A. Hawkes IV and his wife, Katelyn, his grand-daughter, Hallie A. Hawkes, and his favorite family member, his grand-dog Bubba. He was the only son of the late Richard and Jess Hawkes.

 Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 12/12/2024 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday 12/13/2024 at 11 AM in McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main St. (Rt. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital) , Weymouth. Cremation will follow.
