Richard John "Rick" Mangino, 55, of Quincy, MA, passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a long illness.
Born in Revere, Massachusetts, on April 20, 1970, Rick was the beloved son of Carole Mangino and the late Richard Mangino. He was a proud graduate of Pope John High School, Class of 1988. For 37 years, Rick dedicated himself to a career with United Airlines, where he worked as a Lead Ramp Serviceman. His work ethic, leadership, and loyalty earned him the admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
Rick is survived by his devoted wife, Rhonda Quigley Mangino, and their cherished sons, Trevor and Nicholas Mangino. He was a loving brother to Robert and David Mangino and a treasured member of a wide circle of extended family and friends.
To know Rick was to experience genuine warmth, steadfast loyalty, and unshakable devotion. He was an incredible father and husband—completely involved in every aspect of his sons’ lives. He immersed his family in a world full of wonder and learning: planning meaningful local and international trips, exploring National Parks, attending live music events, building intricate LEGO projects, playing and teaching instruments, and sharing movies and board games. Rick led by example, instilling a sense of curiosity, creativity, and compassion in his children.
Rick was deeply passionate about music, movies, books, travel, and—most of all—his family. His insight, encouragement, and steady presence made him a trusted confidant and mentor to many. His natural leadership, musical talent, and thoughtful guidance left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Rick's legacy is one of love, integrity, and a life lived with deep purpose. He will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
