Richard A. Rocci, of Weymouth, died peacefully in his home, surrounded by those he loved, on Monday, September 22, 2025. He was 77.
Richard was born in Somerville on February 8, 1948, and was the son of the late Romeo and Helen (Hanwell) Rocci. Raised in Jamaica Plain, Richard graduated from Hyde Park High School before beginning a life built on dedication to family, service to his country and community, and work. A proud Army Veteran, he served his country with honor during the Vietnam War. This was something he carried with great pride throughout his life. He later continued his time in the service by joining the Army National Guard, where he earned the rank of MP E-6.
On March 29, 1980, Richard married the love of his life, Andrea, in Braintree. Together, they shared 45 years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
Richard had a gift for fixing just about anything. Whether it was around the house, for family, or for a friend in need. A true “can do” man, he was known for his boundless energy, always keeping busy and finding something productive to do.
He had a long career with Comfort Furniture Showrooms in Lowell, where he dedicated 35 years before retiring in 2017. His strong work ethic and loyalty were qualities that defined him throughout his life.
Richard was generous with his time, and he never hesitated to lend a hand. Friends and family alike will remember him as someone who could be counted on, not only for his skills but for his kindness and warmth. He was a man who made life brighter for those around him.
Richard will be deeply missed by all the lives he touched.
Richard was the beloved husband of Andrea J. (Fratus) Rocci of Weymouth. He was the devoted father of Richard A. Rocci Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Plymouth, and the late Leslie Rocci and who died in 2004. Richard was the loving grandfather of Michael Hazelton of South Carolina, Andrew Rocci of Weymouth, Thomas Rocci of Weymouth and uncle to Allyssa & Andrea Baker of Weymouth. He was preceded in death by his four siblings: Barbara Tankle, Janet Noll, Larry Rocci, and Eleanor Frenier. Richard is also survived by many extended family members, and friends.
Following cremation, Richard's funeral services and interment will be held privately.
