Rita M. Cyr

Rita Cyr, cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, at the age of 83, surrounded by her devoted family.

Born on November 11, 1940, in Quincy, MA, Rita was the heart of her family, creating a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her infectious spirit left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. For over 30 years, she worked as a patient account representative, where her compassion and dedication touched the lives of both her colleagues and the patients she served.

 Rita loved traveling to Las Vegas with her husband, where they enjoyed watching shows, playing the slot machines, indulging in buffet dinners, and meeting new friends along the way.

Rita is survived by her son, William Cyr, his wife Ann of Hanover, and their daughters, Michaella Cyr of Queens, NY, and Bridget Cyr and fiancé Conor Mullen, as well as her great- grandson, Aidan Patrick Mullen of Weymouth, MA. She is also survived by her siblings, Barbara Sealund of Quincy, MA, Thomas Cook of Quincy, MA, and Mary Jane Solimini of Braintree, MA. Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph A. Cyr, and her dear son, Joseph E. Cyr, both of whom she carried in her heart every day.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday from 9-11 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square). Funeral service will be celebrated immediately following the visiting hours at 11 AM. Burial in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth.
